I have a mitsu 4 layer head gasket on the car and I need to fix a bent valve, is the head gasket reusable? The motor has 8k on it and also burns oil so I was thinking of changing the rings too. Would it be worth it?
Thanks
Jared

Can you explain why it wont seal right?

thanks

Once you torque the head down, the gasket gets all squished and deformed to seal. IF you try to do it again, the chances of it sealing again perfectly like before are virtually nill and not worth the risk of blowing the engine or having to do the job all over again.

umm let me think about that?????? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The risk-to-cost ratio says NO more loudly than the arguments do. The amount a failed, used gasket will cost compared to buying another one makes it asinine in all but the most desperate of circumstances.
