i am having a hard time tuning my AVC-R, and its two weeks till it goes on the dyno, but it seems like its over boosting and the fuel cuts off, any comments or suggestions are welcome, seems more complicated than i thought

My suggestion. Sell it and get something else. Seriously I know noone who can tune it properly.

I know there is one guy on the forum with one and can tune it..or so he says. I also have a good friend with one and he loves it, you just have to be very patient, and know what you are doing(not saying you dont) but if it's your first EBC, it might take awhile.Later Corey.

I had an AVC-R and never had any luck with it. I tried to get other guys to tune it and no one could get to right. The car always ran funny. I sold it and bought a mbc and have not had any problems since. There is beauty in simplicity. You might not impress everyone with digital display but it will work much better.

Post your current values/percentages and we can help ya out. The AVC-R is a cluster-fack BUT if tuned properly can be your best friend.

The AVC-R is a very nice unit, but takes quite a bit of time and effort to get adjusted correctly. I had a new turbo made by innovative turbo and they welded the internal wastegate swing valve too tightly, so when the housing heated up the valve would hang up, causing massive boost spikes (1.0bar would spike to 1.5bar). w/ the AVC set at 1.0bar w/ 60% duty, cold it would run 12psi, but hot it would spike to wherever it wanted. I went 6 months assuming it was my boost controller(s) - Profec B, EVC-IV, and AVC-R. I solved my problem by going with an external Turbonetics Deltagate II wastegate.

What you want to do is adjust your boost to what you want it at, then adjust your duty to get you close. If you get some spiking/overshooting you can either 1: Adjust your feedback speed (spiking- passes level and comes back down), or 2: lower your duty cycle (overshooting - passes level and stays). If you want, you can adjust your feedback speed to "9" in all gears, but it will slow your boost reponse because the AVC-R is constantly checking the boost level. Lowering the # will reduce lag, but may cause some spiking if set too low. You should do your pulls in 3rd/4th gear to put more load on the motor. Once you get everything close the unit should go into self-learning mode, where the duty will display "***" but it takes quite a bit of hard driving for it to start. HTH.

try messing with the duty cycle and seeing to where you can hold pretty much steady boost in first and second gear. That is what I do when I tune and it hold pretty nice.

Does anyone have a diagram of how its supposed to be hooked up?
the vac lines on the wastegate and all?

also,
i want about 15 psi. so i set the boost to 1.0 bar.
im not clear on this duty cycle stuff.
