Well I got my Aeromotive AFPR from slowboy yesterday and went to the store to pick up some -6AN fittings and custom mounted the AFPR. It looks really nice with the B&M gauge too. Well i set the base pressure to 44-45 with the VAC hose off. and it stays at 38 psi or so with the vac hose on... I ran my car around all day and WOW!!!!! its like it gained 40 HP, this is becuase i had been running 55PSI base becuase i was overflowing the stock regulator and running VERY RICH. My fuel curve would not get linear till about 10lbs of boost and 5500 rpm. Well with all that said I am going to lower the base pressure some more to its stock PSI which will be 43 Psi with the vac hose off. The question i have deals with the performance of my car. I am trying to understand what is going on meaning, Was the reason my car was so sluggish before just becuase my Base fuel pressure was at 55 psi????? And by just lowering the Base pressure back to stock does that Lean it out to a better Air-fuel Ratio or something???? What does lowering the base pressure down Actually do ??????????????? Thanks

44 base fuel pressure is a little high with the vacume hose off and pluged with the motor running. I would bring it down to 40 psi.

well you have a 1g wich use 36 base pressure and my 2g uses 43.5 psi approximate.

so stock fuel pressure on a 1g tsi is 36 psi with the vac hose off? what does that come down to witht he vac hose on? thanks, need to know for when i get my AFPR

Depends on the car. There's no specific vacume all cars will have at idle and vacume will effect the reading with the hose attached. That's why we set it with the vacume source disconnected
