how much extra power would a new bigger throttle body and a venom intake manifold add to my 95 gsx?
 
i hear the venom intake manifold is $hit.

just get a ported 1g manifold and a big bore throttle body.
Or you can get a extrude honed intake manifold... i remember reading on buschur website it adds like 20hp or .2 off the 1/4

That you for continuing internet gossip. Venom completely changed their intake manifold design. Initial tests look very promising.

Extrude Hone sucks! You pay a lot of money 400-550 to get an intake manifold done to maybe pick up 10-15 hp. That is not worth it IMO

A properly done intake manifold with a 70mm Mustang throttle body could pick up 30-40 hp on certain setups.
 
The venom intake manifold and throttle body picked up decent power for turbo mag. when they put them on a 4g63

FIrst off, an extrude honed 1G intake manifold only picked up 9CFM on a flow bench. Not really gaining much for the 400 bucks. The claim about 20HP is crap and the flow bench shows that.

I believe the Accufab or BBK throttle bodies are direct bolt on pieces that reuse our ISC and TPS sensor. Several BBK trottle bodies have failed though interms of the trottle plate breaking.

The venom intake manifold was redesigned but doesn't mean it is better. Believe it or not, there is partial dyno proof from AMS that a sheet metal intake they had on a car was actually losing horsepower compared to a 1G intake manifold until way high in the RPM range. So it might make more power way way up top on a big turbo. Only dyno grpahs can prove one way or another. Either way, they are trying to make it better. I still dont believe that anything bolts on to it at all making it a difficult install like any other sheet metal.
 
There is NO bolt on aftermarket throttle bodies available for our cars. They are all a custom affair. However some shops such as RRE offer bored out factory throttle bodies.

As far as how much extra power you would get..... there is a very good chance you would loose power with an intake unless the rest of your setup is up to par. A 1st Gen TB on a 2G is a worthwhile undertaking though.
 
I would also like more information on this Mustang TB... rdrkt.... where are you!? Tell me more of whats involved and one is going to run into...

I don't understand the big deal unless you are pushing 400 hp I wouldn't think tb's and intake are a big deal, maybe for a small block chevy but ours is designed pretty nicely.
 
A TB that can support 400hp wouldn't hurt a car that only had 200-300hp

So why not get one?

Plus you can get a Mustang TB alot cheaper than a DSM TB.

I would like to know which Mustang TB would fit a DSM.
They got so many for the Mustang.
 
Why dont you just swap the first gen TB on. It is 60mm that is pretty big. I am pretty sure it can easily support over 500hp, because even the twin turbo vr4 is only using a 60mm throttle body and there really isn't an upgrade for most cars.
 
Im selling my 92 (easy kins with 3 on top)60mm TB, and 1G intake manifold. The TB are a decent upgrae for 2g's, but it would really only be worth thetrouble to get the intake manifold if you were willing to port match the head. The 1G intake manifold i also much bigger than the 95+, it was the exhasut manifol you were thining of. If you want Ill sell the pair to anyone for 140$... =)
