16g to 20g upgrade ?'s

anyone had this upgrade performed? im curious as who i should choose to do the work. its a hahn racecraft "super" 16g. im not sure if i want them to do it or possibly someone else. any reccomendations? any downsides to upgrading it?
 
well the turbo was originally purchased for my 2g. the 2g has been diasassembled and gotten rid of. i say if you've got it use it. i also have the manifold for the turbo as well so selling it would create a problem there. anyway im not gonna defend it but personally i think its just as good as any other 16g and it included an o2 housing. with a new compressor housing and wheel i don't see where i'll be at any disadvantage versus any other 20g. also the shop i used to work at is a dealer for hrc so i got it on the dealer buy in so i really couldn't go wrong in my opinion.
 
What about me? I have a big16g and want to upgrade. I beleive the only thing salvagable is the turbin housing right? Theres no downfall is there. Its 7cm just like most 20g's, so all Id need is the center section and compressor/housing right? Thanks in advance
 
from what i have gathered, to go from 16g to 20g you just need the 20g compressor wheel and a TD06 compressor housing, it supposedly bolts on the the stock center section. HRC sell these for $299. of course then you have to get it balanced and figure out what to do about the wastegate actuator...

That is not true, you also need to machine the 16G center housing to accept a 20G wheel. It is not a major machining operation, but still, it need to be done.

What I said is true about regular 16G and 20G. I have no idea how "super" turbos work.

Thanks guys... I guess id be better off jus tselling mine then and buying a new one. Its only 2k miles old though...~sigh~
 
he said he had a big 16g, big 16g's have the same major diameter as 20g wheels, so no machining should be necessary.
