Well i just purchased my FMIC from PTE, and im going to be mounting it very soon. That shouldnt be too hard at all, my question is, what should i do with the stock Power Steering cooler line that runs in front of the bumper.

Im afraid that if i try and bend it out of the way it will break, since its 11 years old and a new england car. If anyone could help me out it'd be awesome, thanks :thumb:

Not enough room to keep it? I know that some FMIC's leave just enough room to keep it.

Highly recommend you keep it as I do have a friend that completely removed it and has had problems with the P/S getting too hot ever since (during autox events specifically). He's now dealing with a rack failure, possibly related to the high temps since removing the cooler loop (he didn't think it'd make as big a difference as it did).

You should be able to easily replace the line type cooler in the front of the radiator with a small fatter finned one maybe located in the left lower intake area(drivers side). I've put one in the headlighty area on my race only car. Here are a couple of pixs of the cooler, sorry for the quality of the one on my car, I'll be taking some new ones. and maybe put them on a DIY. You can purchase this cooler on Ebay for very little, it has 3/8" slip on type fittings. :)

Ya think there might be a reason Mitsu put a P/S cooler there???????

the shop owner from "Hermanracingservice.com" said that it was fine, (to just loop the lines) he has been building DSM's for quite a long time. and i've had my car like that for 2 weeks with out any problems. i now thats not a very long time but.....

You can just unblot it, and extend the rubber lines a few inches in order to mount it behind the support bar that it is on. However I removed mine about 8 months ago and have experienced no trouble whatsoever out here in 100* cali. It is possibly the worst cooling design ever being just a straight line with no fins, so it doesnt really matter.
