Exhaust Recommendation

many people like the apex-i N1 catback and turboback products...

also, for the cost-concious consumer I would recomend going to your local exhaust shop and having them make you a 3"exhaust system (mandrel bent) w/ a good brand-name muffler like magnaflow/borla/flowmaster/etc... This will sound just fine! I love how my magnaflow sounds

ur car wont sound like a freakin' lawn mower goin 5 mhp. since u got the turbo...the turbo will kinda silence it. and i also recomend u to go with the N1, its looks bada$$ and sounds great!

Is the n1 really worth it? It costs about 2 times more than the Buschar exhaust. I'm not quite sure what your getting in it for paying so much.

I don't own an Apexi system, but I had a chance to examine one up close on a 3KGT Vr4 that was on a lift.

The piping on the VR4 system was very large, but the build quality was rather sloppy. The welds were pretty messy, and the "Y" split was ugly at best. There were a couple sections at the rear where they should have used a bend in the pipe, but instead they just angle cut the pipe and welded it together. Not pretty.

Having said that the mufflers were awesome, the hangers matched up well, and the flanges were realtively solid.

This may not be the norm for all apexi systems, I'm just relaying what I saw on this particular system. Make your own conclusions.

What is the performance diffrence between the set-up you described and the catback{what makes the catback the thing to own?

If you are budget minded like myself, but still don't want to sacrifice quality go the either thepartstrader.com or dsmtrader.com. I got a used N1 catback for only $350 in good shape. Only thing wrong with it was the piping right by the cat was scraped :thumb: yeah, don't care...

I love beer!

Yeah, but what exactly is so special about the n1 that it costs $300 more than a Buschar or other lower priced exhaust.

I think the N-1 is the best way to go. If you get the DP and cat back syst., the thing sounds like a beast. Go w/ the N-1. You'll be very happy,
MMuhhaaaahahaha.

hd223- I think the N-1 costs $300 more than the Aluminized Steel Buschur Exhaust. The N-1 is made out of S.S., Buschur also sells a S.S. cat-back for about the same price as the N-1 I think. I have a 3" Buschur and don't have any complaints at all, nice sound, performance, everything about it is awesome, just my two cents- Erick

Not to start an argument with all the N1 fans, but I personally like Thermal, Classic Style... I just bought the 3", stainless steel, cat-back, and I wont go anyother way... It is costly, paid around $650 for mine (shipped that is), but it was well worth the investment... It doesnt look like a big ass coffee can on the bottom of my car, it almost has a stock look (like the GS-T, and GSX) mufflers, but I love it... Just chimmin' in though :)

N1, great sound, quality and known to perform

I like my N1, I had a buschur 2.5" and before that I had an Apexi Dunk. I actually like the N1 the best. But it is your choice. :dsm:

I will get you a price. I just ordered one for my 2g awd. Let me get back to you.
