so ive spent the last couple of days installing my fmic. i have hard pipes with all good strong connections. when i start the car it idles fine, reads normal vac and everything seems normal. when i take it for a ride and get on it ...it doesnt build like any boost... ill hit like 6 grand and only make like 4lbs of boost. any ideas? i have 2.25" piping all around, upper and lower. i have a sec gen tb elbow. im also running a stock 14b and before the install i was running 15lbs of boost. im really starting to draw blanks here. i dont think that its a pipe leaking because i had one clamp that wasnt on good and the car was wanting to stall and not idle and shit but now its fine. any advice would be great guys. thanks

im having similar problems but not related to any install... i dunno. if i find out ill let you know what my problem was

I had a similar problem with my setup, turns out the actual boost gauge connection sprung a leak and at vacuum it would seal fine giving me a good reading, once I would hit boost it would only read 5psi or less. I woud suggest what CanadianTsi said. It could also be a boost leak in the intercooler (manufacturing mishap). Check all of your connections again, check your wastegate actuator rod and check your boost gauge. Good Luck

okay the wastegate is fine...so is the boost gauge. the only thing that i can really think of is maybe a small leak still somewhere in the lines. my piping is all one piece for the upper and one piece for the lower made from nomal exhaust pipe so i know there is no holes in that. and really all my clamps are clamped down so much that the rubber is like swelled around it....im really lost here but i need this shit figured out by saturday when i have a match against an srt4 :)

I would do a leak test to be sure, here is the vfaq on how to make up any necessary parts and how to do the test itself vfaq boost leak test this will help you easily locate the leak and keep you from pulling out all of your hair.
