Car is really messed up

I was driving today and all the sudden heard a pop and the car tried to stall ... but it couldn't because I was rolling at about 45 mph. Anyways, I come up to a stop light down the road and the car stalls at the sign. As soon as I start it back up it tries to die again. If I tap the gas I can keep it running, but barely. It was blowing a lot of black smoke, and once I had it moving again it blew white smoke. As soon as I put any load on the engine at all or even just press the throttle it tries to stall out and blows white smoke too. I was thinking headgasket ... but I kept driving it since I only live 2 miles from where it happened. I got it home and checked the compression and it was 170- 170-170-170, so now I'm clueless. It's not leaking any oil or coolant either. Engine temp was normal. I wasn't flooring the car either when it all happened .. just smoothly accelerating not even building boost ( maybe 2-3 psi at the most ). What could my problem be??? I didn't get a check engine light either.

check your IC couplers. Mine popped like that at the track.

no, shouldn't be white smoke but it'll smoke.

if the i/c piping popped off it would go extremely rich under any kind of load and that would wash all th oil off the ctlinders causing it to burn oil and smoke really bad .... white smoke usually.

Well if its blowing white smoke you blew the headgasket some how??
I would first check the plugs and if they all look the same check your coolant level.

I still don't know how to explain the white smoke .. however it was the intercooler pipe. That thing was double clamped too!!! Anyways, I did another compression check ones the engine was hot and it came out really good. No oil / coolant mix either ... so I think the headgasket is fine. I plugged the intercooler pipe back in and clamped it down even tighter with 2 clamps this time ... but I'm afraid to boost it because I don't want it popping off again.

oh yea plugs were all the same and looked like the car was running rich. Compression is good and coolant level is good too.

Hairspray on the IC pipe does the trick.

I'm going to try some different reducers. I need 2 3/4 to 2 1/4 ... anyone know who has them? My whole reducer slides off the intercooler everytime this happens .. so I want to find one 2 3/4 to 2 1/4 and use T bolt clamps as well. Thanks.
