Once in a while I get that code. About every 50 - 70 miles. It's always cylinder 3. Car always drives and runs fine. Compression is good, wires are brand new, plugs are brand new and properly gapped, so I don't know what would cause this. The car is not tuned right now but still seems wierd that it's always cylinder 3. Injectors are fairly new .. but I figure if #3 injector wasn't working then it wouldn't work at all right? Not just every 50 - 70 miles. It's weird though ... last fall I would get cylinder 4 misfires a lot too and never any other cylinder. Now it's cylinder 3. 3 more years to go and I won't get any misfires at this rate!!!!

well thanks for all your help. :p My problem isn't fixed still even with different coilpacks and ignition module, which leads me to believe its a bad injector. How can I test an injector without having it flow tested at a shop and paying a lot of money?

My car had a cylinder 3 misfire before. It turned out that a rocker arm came off from shifting past redline. :shhh:

I had a misfire in cylinder #2. Mine was consitant though. Turns out I somehow burnt the valves up. Im still unsure how I managed that one but I dont think this is your case. Good luck figuring it out though.

Not meaning to steal the thread but... I have been getting a check engine light for a cyl #4 misfire, and I just had a set of HKS 264/272 cams installed awhile back and was told that the HKS cams will sometimes cause a check engine light on the 2g's, which in turn will be a cylinder misfire. I only get the misfire at idle. Anyone else heard of this? :)

I don't see how the cams would cause a misfire... only at idle at least.
