Well its been a month since i installed a new ACT 2600 clutch and after that i blew out a Crank angle sensor and finally got it replaced yesterday so the car runs again. But this time i bent the crank plate so that it doesnt rub against the CAS. Well i know i have crank walk becuase when i let my car idle it was making the dreaded ticking noise from the crankplate hitting the CAS. When i would push the clutch in the sound would go away. When i released the clutch it would come back... So luckily i have a spare 6 bolt block, intake, rods, and head. the only things i need for the swap is a 6 bolt awd flywheel, and a ARP hardware and some new pistons/engine gaskets. I wanted to get the Topline rebuild kit but they only come with 8.0.1 pistons and i want 8.5.1. Right now the car drives fine and the ticking stoped prolly due to rubbing so much. It still is in excellent shape but i want to get this 6bolt motor before it gets worse... I just started working again so money will be coming in its just i have none right now.. I was wondering how much a machine shop (ballpark figure) would cost do Clean/prep, bore .20 over, and hone or watever. and the cost cleaning my 6bolt crank and magnafluxing the rods. They look fine now but im sure the 1g motor that i have has seen at least 150K. The block still has the stock crosshatching. and the rods look nice. Would it be ok if i could take the cheap route and just clean them and throw them on with new crank and rod bearings??? sorry for the long post im just curious what steps i should take next..
