I have 2500 to spend on my car and just wanted to know what you guys would get. I have a BBC and cutcan/free mods done to my car... other than that it is stock. What hybrid turbos are good?? I dont want a Mitsubishi (have a friend that works for JGS Precision turbo that says they are no good). Basiclly just tell me what you guys would do if it was your car, your money. Thanks for listening.

Personally I would take greathuskie's advice and do basic mods first 2. If you've already done the free mods then move on to a k&n or typical cone air filter or a custom ram air, then to exhaust, downpipe, headers, 02 housing, high flow cat, greddy evo exhaust, then if you plan on increasing boost you'll need upper and lower aluminum intercooler piping, and adjustable blow off valve, i prefer greddy type s, a throttle body, intake manifold, b&m fuel pressure regulator and the appropriate gauges. Just mod slowly and run your car for a day or two before doing another to make sure performance has changed.

k&n-$119
Evo catback-$650
Greddy fmic-$980
Eclipse-priceless

You can paypal it too me. PM me for my paypal address ;)

Just kidding click on the tuning guide up above and it will tell a good order to get your mods.:thumb:

This could help http://www.dsmtuners.com/tuning-guide/1gturbo/stage1power.php

and it sounds 984G634Life is just telling u the setup he/she wants. good luck finding headers for a turbo dsm. porting your manifold or a 2G exhaust manifold can do the job. and since you are on a budget, dont get the evo for $650. look around for good deals( I got my 3" turbo back for $400). adjustable bov isn't needed, you can crush your 1Gbov to hold about 20-24psi. depending on if they test for emissions in your state get a high flow cat, otherwise get a testpipe, its less restrictive and cheaper.

oh an 984G634life, this isn't personal. i'm just adding my .02 cents

If you take the time to shop the trader you will be amazed at how far 2500 will get you. The problem is you have to keep watching it until the parts you want come up. I never had the patients for that. With 2500 I would do exhaust, turbo, feul pump, and a logger. Without some of the other mods you can't turn up the boost but with the larger turbo you will notice a difference at the same boost. Well I did but I also had a t-25 and not a 14b. (Depending on how many miles is on the car) the stock turbo may needing to be replaced soon anyway. I think the life span is around 100k miles. Now that doesn't mean at 100k your turbo is no good but after modding and turning up the boost it could go out alot sooner. My point is while you got the money replace the turbo because it would suck to spend 2500 in supporting mods and then have turbo go out when your broke. If you know you will be able to afford a turbo later anyway then do the supporting mods first. Remember this doesn't mean your turbo will go out after you mod the car but it could happen so think about it. One more thing Mitsubishi turbo don't suck. They have been proven effective time and time again. They are also some of thr best priced turbos to. That's my opinion later.

Thanks for all of your guys responces.:)
The BBC is just a diffrent type of a manual boost controller (Busta Boost Cont.) Got it out of Canada. As far as getting a turbo goes what is the Mitsubishi equvilent (cant spell) for a T3/T4?? Im am pretty new to the DSM scene so sorry if I ask a lot of newbie questions. I really do appreciate your guys input though.:thumb:

I would get the BIG stuff first personally, because everyone hates saving for big things (ex: turbo, exhaust, intercooler, LSD if u want it) those r the biggest things i can think of. The smaller things always somehow fall into place. Even if u cant afford all the supporting mods its better just to keep like a turbo laying around then "thinking" everyday about saving over 1000 bucks for it. IT SUCKS hehehe your choice tho

If your looking for something equivalent to a t3/t4 I would say a 20g. There are many diferent combos to choose from on t3 /t4s but I would say go with the 20g because it sounds like your thinking bigger than a 16g. It really all depends on what your goals for the car are.

Supporting mods are the basis to keeping your engine alive though, yeah its great to have a 20g and a fmic layin around but DO NOT put it on your car without basic supporting mods. You can listen to whoever you'd like but i wouldnt push 23 psi with a stock airbox and our little ass exhaust......

Im not saying put it on and blow the motor...U can put the exhaust and intercooler and/or lsd if u want it on...yes lay off the turbo till u get supp mods but like i said, id rather think about saving 300 bucks for injectors or a afc or something than 1000+ for a turbo IMO
