hey whats up I recently got a MSD dis 4 ingnition box from a friend for doin some work and i was just wondering if i should sell it or if it will be worth it to put on my car. I have a 95 talon 16g 255lph 550cc injectors, afc, and i am puttin in new plugs and wires this weekend. Im just seein what you guys thought, and if anyone has this mod if they like it or not
Thanks,

I think you need the DIS-2 for DSM's

Stock ignition will be fine though.

USE IT!

I put on a DIS-2 and it ran SOOOO much better, better bottom end tourqe and less litle mis fires. All you need to do is is ground out the inputs for channels 3 and 4 and tape off thoes coil outputs. It will work fine.

thanks alot for the quick responses can you elaborate on how to do that
thanks alot

I personaly am a big buff on ignition...... if you ever at a big chain bookstore like Boarders go to the auto section and get:

"Performance Ignition Systems : Electronic or Breaker-Point Ignition System Tuning for Maximum Performance, Power and Economy (Paperback, 1999) ISBN 1-55788-3068
May 1999"

this book changed my things on car performance.....

will a dis-4 ignition work on a 95 talon? or do i need to get a dis-2 box

Yes, but since it was designed for 4 coils you have to modify it.

"All you need to do is is ground out the inputs for channels 3 and 4 and tape off thoes coil
outputs. It will work fine."

ive personally never upgraded an igniton system on a import ..but i usta own a 85 camaro and i upraded all the ignition on that and got a noticable increase in power with that being the only thing i did mod wise...so yes maybe the stock ignition on a eclipse is fine, but upgrading it will only weild more horsepower and burn up ALL the fuel sprayed into the cylinder...I just look at it as..now that you have an upgraded fuel system i.e bigger injectors and fuel pump...why not upgrade what lites it...makes sence to me..rather than leaving it stock when it was designed to ignite stock fuel spray
