Well I knew when I got my front mount (24 x 12 x 3 1/2) I would probably have some problems keeping it cool, but this has become a lot worse than I ever could have imagined.

What I have done to rectify the problem:

- Fluidyne Radiator
- 10' Slimline A/C fan running on full blast all the time via DSM LINK
- 60/40 water/antifreeze mix
- 1 bottle of watter wetter
- 180 t-stat

Exact symtoms: When driving it is fine for the first 10-15 min and then starts to get warmer and warmer til I have to turn the heat on to cool it down. The lowest temp I can get it to run is at 206 which is where the 2G ecu begins pulling timing, so I dont want that.

I have done a compression test and have 168 across the board. The car is not leaking any coolant and not burning any off either, as I have not had to add any in the 3 weeks I have been fighting this problem. I tried the 180 t-stat for the 99 and also tried a 180 t-stat from a 91 turbo rx7 which is the same size but has a longer throw allowing more coolant by it (read about that on this board). I can get the temps to go down by turning the heat on full blast but I know that there must be a problem because I know a guy with the same set up as I stated above and his logged temps were 180 no matter what kind of driving is done. Any ideas or questions would greatly be appreciated.

looks like the only thing you have left is a water pump to do. LOL maybe its starting to go.

look for dumb stuff to kinked hoses sometimes the simple stuff is over looked. is the thermostat in correctly double check that. it is still possible to open if it was in backwards.

This is real basic but have you pressure tested your coolant system and your cap? I've had similar problems i just went through and tested all the sensors and wiring. Do you have a stock main radiator fan? Is it running? This may not help at all but it's all i could think of right now. Hope you solve the problem.
