Fuel pressure questions

Well ive been running at 60 psi base fuel pressure since i installed a VR4 180lph pump and rewired it. Does anyone know y it jumped so high with this new fuel pump???? Also this is hurting my speed i went to the track this last sunday and ran times of 14.6s at 92s and 93 mph. When normally on the stock pump i ran trap speeds of 98 or 99s.. Whats going on here..!!!!!? my car feels like it pulls better at half throttle then at full. This new pump upgrade is killing me. and i dont have an extra 150 to get a AFPR any cheap solutions??? P.S my car seemed to run better when i lined up the hole with the fuel line. on the banjo bolt that fits onto the top of the fuel filter. so im kinda thinking about a cheap stevetek thing but i dunno.

WOW. I didn't think base could go that high w/ that pump. I've read 50+ psi base fuel pressure at idle w/ a walbro 255, so that's your whole problem. Get some money together man, no cheap fixes. You need that damn afpr pronto, or you're gonna unload your wallet paying for shitty gas mileage.

yea you are now just running hella rich .. that's why the slower track times.

there is something wrong there for sure. A 180lph pump should be fine with the stock regulator. Hell even a 255lph pump is not gonna give you 60psi base!!! I had one with some other flow enhancing mods on my stocker and it was only 54 or so base. and that was a rewired 255 Walbro.

Check into other things like a blockage in your return line, or a fubared regulator.

Just grab a freind with one that works and swap it out and then see if the pressure goes down.
