I started porting out my EVO manifold the other day and just kept going and going until the center 'runner' that divides cylinders 1 & 4 from 2&3 was completely gone. At the time this seemed like a good idea, now Im not so sure. Could someone with a bit more experience take a look and give me their opinion?

It's hard to tell in the picture....Did you completely remove the dividers in the collector?? If so i think it may be kind of bad as there will be a lot of turbulence in there now. Some people "shape" the edge of it a little but I have never heard it was a good idea to remove it. Good luck

The divider is pretty well removed, it is at the same level as the divider that seperates cylinder #3 and #4. Anyone else have any input about this. I really hate to think that I ruined my manifold :(.

I'll still run fine. My buddy did that same thing on his 2G mani and still managed 11's

I personally left the divider in place.

The collector region is highly important. It's a bad idea especially on our manifold that has all the runners running horizontally until all 4 merge in the collector region. It has the very important function of directing the gasses downwards towards the turbo, so theoretically this will have an adverse effect on spoolup and overall performance, so as said before the collector is important.
And lastly 2G and especially EVOIII manifolds don't need to be extensively ported, smooth the runners and remove the ring are the main things to focus on.

:( I wish I had done more research into this more extensively PRIOR to porting the mani. Will this hurt anything (aside from not performing as well)? If not I will use the EVO mani till I can afford to either buy a new one, or get something a little better. Thanks again for your help.

Thats what learnign is all about, you make a mistake and move on. I have done things like that here and there. It least it was only a mani for about 200.00 instead if a brand new turbo or something really expensive.
