what performs better, as well as keeps the engine cooler, haveing the fans in front of the radiator (FMIC side) so they push air through it, or behind the radiator (engine side) so they pull air through it. or does it make a differance either way?

Typically doesn't matter --- just look at it this way... the more the CFM the better.

I reccomend 2 puller fans behind the radiator, and 2 pusher fans infront of the AC condensor, with weatherstripping from autozone or wherever (automotive though, not home grade) between the radiator and the AC Condensor -- so that the air HAS to go through the 2 of them, and cannot be sucked or pushed out the sides.

The weatherstripping would be 10x more important if your relying only on fans mounted on the AC Condensor and none mounted to the radiator.
