Srt-4 Fmic????

There is a thread very similar to this one also on the 1st page :)

If you can make your own piping I am sure it would be better than a smic. It is shaped kinf of odd (not very tall) and probably not very efficient but it is larger than stock and in the main air stream. If you have to buy the core for 200 and then spen abother 300 on ic pipes then just buy a used one off of the trader.

i wouldn't think so, going off what nanokpsi said, thats what about $500, you could probably get a bigger one off ebay (greddy 24r) for 250 more, but...doesn't the srt-4 run a 16g?? if so, i think it should be able to handle a 14b. granted, its probably not made for all out performance, cause its a factory piece...kinda like our smic's.

i think making the pipes for the front mount would be alot harder than you think. the piping on the srt4 core is like short route piping not end to end. i would think to make piping you would have to do some modification to the endtanks. someone correct me if im wrong.

well i have someone custom making intercooler pipes for me for $150, regardless what intercooler i get, so it just matters on what intercooler i should get for the money, i have almost 300 to spend, for the intercoolealone? which one?

A front mount is less "in the air stream" when it has another heat exchanger behind it, than is a sidemount with nothing behind it. They're both directly ducted at the front of the car.

yeah but i think its gonna be more than just making pipes. have you ever seen a srt4 front mount off of the car? i doubt you we be able to do it unless you modify the endtanks.

Just go to RRE roadraceengineering.com in thier DIY section......get ya a griffin top to bottomflow intercooler with endtanks for like $300.....just a thought.

I guess I should be more clear. More of the surface area of the core is in the air stream. Is that better? You have far too much time on your hands if you choose to deabte that. LOL
