What would be considered a good daily driver boost that is safe? My freind runs 16psi through his 2000 1.8 T golf and is just fine. What would be good to run in my 1995 gsx that has 68000 miles. Someone said theirs blew up running 14 daily in his 95 x. He also didn't change his oil and bought it used from some idiot who beat the #@%#@%#@%#@% out of it constantly. Also would I need new internals to run 16 psi?

It all depends on your mods level. According to your profile, your car is stock. If you rewire the fuel pump with heavy gauge wire, you shold be able to run 15-16psi on an otherwise stock engine, as long as you have a boost gauge and a/f gauge to monitor it.

It's possible to run as much as 18-20 psi on pump gas. Of course that requires a larger fuel pump, bigger injectors, fuel control, bigger turbo, FMIC, etc...

On a car with a T25, even with every other supporting mod, I wouldn't try to run more then 18psi off of a T25. The turbo is putting out more hot air then power at that point.

Most people that run 18-20psi with a fmic and other goodies, are running upgraded turbos.

As far as running 16psi.. you deff. would not need new internals -- so far I've run 25psi with a stock motor, and havn't blown up anything other then my tranny -- yet.

u dont really need an a/f gauge. u can get one... monitor your fuel... but i do seriously recommend a boost and an EGT gauge.

i would run 15-16 psi.... ur not really doing much above that. Oh and you'll need an aftermarket (or 1g) BOV... stock 2g will leak like hell!! :)

g'luck :)
