hey im getting a amazing deal on a used 255lph walbro and can i run this qwithout any other mods without any bad effects and any chance i can get some power form it thanks for any help

the walbro is considerred a supporting mod. By itself, it will not add any HP. Even on a built engine, with ported head, forged pistons, bigger turbo, better exhaust, etc - it will ad NO power whatsoever.

What it will do, though, is allow the other mods to make more power. More boost with more air means more fuel being burnt. This is where the stock fuel pump frowns and craps it's pants.

By having a larger fuel pump and injectors, you have more fuel at your disposal if you need it.

Installing it on a stock car won't give ya much, but if you're getting an 'amazing deal' - then i'd go for it. It surely won't hurt anything having it installed prior. Just wait to install those larger injectors until you got a fuel management system like a safc or dsmlink or whatever.

i kno what your saying i knew it wouldnt add any power just makes it possible to run higher boost etc which means more power but u answered my question about if it will hurt my car thanks alot ill def get it cause im getting it for 30 bucks from a friend who need to get a 255hp not low pressure one also what is the 255lp cable of handling as in power wise cause i eventully am putting a 50 trim on and hopeing to make 350-400 hp will this pump be good enough

Witnessed a 350+ dyno run this weekend. He has a 50trim and 255.

I have the stock pump in my 2g running 15psi and I'm leaning it out 5% up top and it's still pretty rich. So I don't think adding even more fuel will help anything ;)

Add 8-10 psi and you will change your mind.

I'd like to know how everyone just "knows" if there car is rich or lean. I mean, what the hell did I buy a wideband for, I should just hire one of you all to tell me if it's 11.5:1 or 12:1.

Haha, well said. If you're interested, I charge 50 bucks every half hour that I swing my arm back and fourth going from lean-stoich-rich.

HOLY SHIT!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! DAMN!! That's a hell of a lot cheaper than my $1600 Autronic Wideband, bet it works just as good too!!!

A wideband is the best tool along with some sort of standalone. But come on now, they are not the only things that can tell you that you are rich or lean.;)

I go by EGT, o2, watching my airflow, and just how the car feels.

BTW taking out that 5% gave me 3 mph in the 1/8th which I think is a good improvement for such a small turbo.

Considering timing is going to affect EGT, a/f is not affected my airflow - well it is, but unless you cam do the math in your head for injector pulse vs. Hz of air moving through your maf, that is worthless, the "buttdyno" counts for about as much as an autometer a/f gauge, and your using a stock o2 sensor? IIRC, don't they only read from norrowband 13-16:1, since they are only used for gas mileage while cruising and serve no toher purpose?

Well what would you suggest us use then??? We all know you have a $1600 wideband and it's alot better than gauges and sensors but instead of shooting us down, how about you shed your your opinion on how we (the ones who cant afford a $1600 system) can do it.

EGT's are always a good tool you need. Instead of trying to tune off an o2 sensor, pay a few bucks, go to the dyno with a wideband. Get your a/f set straight, and don't be another DSM statistic.

That's one thing I can't stand about the majority of DSM owners, they think hacking the MAF, mismatching 1g and 2g parts, tuning off a narrowband o2, etc, etc, etc works. Well, technically it works, but that's the difference between power, and reliable power.
