injector details

Does anybody know the 450cc injector differences between years?

I know that in 97+ cars the injectors have a different spray pattern, right? And those are black tops?

Are all first gen 450cc blue tops or are some black tops? If both exist, what are the differences between them?

basically, can anybody list out all the various 450's, what they look like, and what is unique about each?

I think the lack of interest in your thread is sort of because nobody really wants to use or keep the stock injectors. It's pretty common for us to replace them with 550cc or 650cc now, sometimes evern 720cc etc... and just sell the old on ebay to honda guys.

I have heard the 440cc in the stock talons are all the same regardless of year, and the 510cc yellow tops that come from some EVO motors are slightly larger and better however again still not worth it.

I actually have a twin turbo 3000gt. We have 6 injectors, so they are only 360cc each. Using DSM injectors is a cheap upgrade for us on the stock turbos. I asked about the injectors here because I figured a lot of you guys have taken your injectors out and know what color the top was on your particular model year.

Mine were black top on my 98. I used them in a turbo honda we built and they work like a charm. My 91 was blue top just for reference.

1g 450's have a narrower spray patter, directing the spray directed more at the valves (in DSM engines, anyway) - better for high RPM performance. 2g 450's have a wider spray patter, better for idle.

1g turbo 5-speeds had 450cc blue top injectors
1g turbo automatics had 390cc grey top injectors
2g turbo (manual and auto) had 450cc black top injectors

It's already been answered. Blue 450's.

1G Autos came with 390cc grey top injectors
vs
the 1G Manual tranny cars they got the 450cc blue tops
both of these have a circular spray pattern (black pintle caps)

the 2Gs all got the same black top 450cc (MT or AT) they came with a figure 8 spray pattern, like the ones in that above pic that have the green pintle caps
