"Pre-Ignition" oil pump

Just wanted to know if anyone has used or heard of an electric oil pump that will prime the system before starting the engine. In my mind I see an electric pump spliced into the oil lines, so the pump could be turned on a couple of seconds before you start the engine.

From various sources I've learned that at least half of all engine wear comes from those first seconds when the oil pressure hasn't come up yet. I live in Canada and I think this would be a huge benefeit.

Any comments?

You may be thinking of this. Works the same in concept, but is less complex and doesn't rely on electric pumps. Some would say it doesn't have a benefit, but it certainly can't hurt.
