Well i wanna know how people have there vac lines set up just the in and out. Currently i have my in lined t-ed with my bov line and my out to the wastegate. I just wanna know how others have theres, greddy's site has a different setup and hte manual isnt to clear either. I was told this is how to set it up off the dsmtlak site. thanks
:dsm:

I have the same setup on my car. I'm running a green with a tial 40mm
doing it that way basically just takes away the possibility of lowering the boost below the spring setting inside of the wastegate. I'm not sure if they all are like this but my wastegate spring opens at 14.75 pounds. Using this setup forces me to use that as my lowest possible boost setting

I installed a Profec-B on my friends 1.8t VW and thats basically how I did his it works great..Basically take out the factory boost controller, and put the controller in place of it.

Rez90, did you have to open your green's wg hole off the turbine side up any? Is you wg mounted off your O2 housing? I have the green with profecb and i'm having boost creep issues galore. I am going to try doing this. From the side hose on the wg to the "out" on the box. The "in" will go to the compressor housing on the green. I won't use the bottom port off the wg. I'm hoping its how I have it hooked up, but everyone seems to think I need to open up that hole more. We'll see tomorrow when i make some changes.

Thanks

Antone one else have theres setup different???? :dsm:

Update: Well, hooked it up like I mentioned above....with the "Out" on the box going to the side of the gate and the "In" on the box going to the compressor housing and left the bottom port off the gate unused. Well, needless to say, this didn't work. Now I get boost going to like 28lbs once the turbo spools. Something is obviously wrong here. Also, I did not hear the dumptube at all when I did it this way. Other's have hooked up there profec this way and it held 15lbs no problem. My O2 housing is a 2.5 inch from AHP. Anyhow, I guess I will be taking off the turbo in the real near future to open it up more.

porting the turbo would only change the effects of boost creep.. not the boost set.. i believe anyhow..

I have my Profec setup right now as if it was using an internal gate even though im using the tial 40mm and I am hitting a max of 20lbs.. when I had it setup to use an external gate the way greddy says to set it up it was hitting a minimum of 21psi..

I have my IN coming from the little nipple on the turbo right underneath the intake pipe (the nipple was capped off on my car... so i don't know what it was plugged into originally.... probably BCS).... this is what GReddy says to do and everyone else I have talked to.....

And of course the OUT goes to the wastegate.....

Does anyone know what the lowest possible boost setting you can have using the profec b.... cause i can't get mine any lower than 13 psi.... stock turbo/stock wastegate....

I usually call incoming right before I shoot off my boost load on the nipple. Usually I can spool pretty quick, but when I hit full boost my line just blows off and shoots all over the nipples...

for the people with stock wastegates... how do you have your switches set up on the back of the profec....???

i have the standard 1 - down, 2 - up, 3 - down, 4 - up....

So im guessin it works well runnin the IN side to the turbo nipple?? I was to understand that the b would only go to a low of 13psi also.. :dsm:

-The dip switches, various dip switches combo allow for diffenent kind of set up.

okay..... now i hit 15 psi all day every day... with the profec b ON or OFF.... it doesn't matter how i tune the profec, it'll give me 15 psi... when i turn it off, the same 15 psi.... so obviously something is not getting power, although the lights on it come on.....

could it be a bad ground....??? even though the lights come on on the controller, could i have tapped a wrong wire for the power..??? (i tapped one of the ecu power wires)

PLEASE HELP!!!!
