just got my car tuned by turbotrix yesterday. The first run yielded a wopping 174 awdhp and 186 lb ft of torque. After they tuned the AFC more i recieved 234awd hp and 259 lb/ft of torque... They also told me that they did a pressure test (that was sucessful) because the turbo took a long time to spool, which got me wondering. I was pretty upset at the results. Im through stage one and two mods (excluding the front mount) and i get a number worse then stock? (174 hp?) Do any these numbers raise a flag like... something is wrong?

Well the 210hp is at the crank from the factory. Import Tuner Dyno'ed a 1G awd a few months back and I believe that put down around 155-160hp. I have the issue at home.. damn work.

Thats an amazing gain of horse/torque just from tuning. I dont think a lot of people realize that you are not getting the full potential of any aftermarket part unless it is tuned correctly afterwords.

im not sure if that 174 hp number is before it was tunned, or just the worst run... because on my "back-yard" tuning I ran a 13.3 ET at teh track something that i dont thing a 174 hp could yield

Don't feel to bad about those numbers. I also just got Dyno tuned at Turbotrix. I have all of the stage one 1G mods done and most of stage two minus the front mount. With my street tune the car made 207awhp & 200ft-lbs/tq. I had it tuned pig rich to avoid damage till i got to the dyno. When JR. was done tuning, the car made 248awhp & 240ft-lbs/tq.

I think Turbotrix's Dynojet is very tight(low) on the numbers. I guess if I correct for the drivetrain thru the AUTO and AWD, the car made about 330 crank HP. Not to bad but like anyone else I was expecting more.

Ummmm I'm not sure what youre so disapointed about, I mean you picked up 60 hp and 73 lb/ft of Torque TO ALL FOUR WHEELS just from tuning!! Your car should feel sooo much faster now.

If you went 13.3 before you should be able to pull some 12 sec passes now.

It just seems that the dyno reads abit low and also it's an AWD dyno so that would also make the numbers abit lower.

this kid where i live has an evoIII big 16g on his 99 GSX... has pretty much the same setup as me but has a FMIC. installed and tuned by turbotrix and dynoed at 295 hp @ 18 psi. i guess the t-28 killer isnt all its made up to be. could a FMIC impact hp that much?

figure if u added a fmic and u say ya have the rest of stage 2 done with tuning u could probably run 20 psi on 93 octane safely and i bet your numbers will sky rocket :p

Just curious, how much does turbotrix charge for dyno tune? I'm contemplating whether I should use the money to dyno tune and have every bit of HP squeezed out or spend the money on a pocketlogger and TRY to tune myself.

SP engineering here in cali said they charge $250 per hour for dyno tuning. That sounds sorta ridiculous to me, how much does dyno tuning usually cost?

$150 an hour... it took them '2" hours (doing other things in between)... but they only charged me for one

The stock sidemount is limiting your whole setup. With a good FMIC, 300whp is definitely possible. The stock sidemount is really only good for stock boost and power levels. Turn up the boost and its not doing a good job at all. FMIC and 20psi will get you what you want.

Word on that.... I"ve got everything I need for 20psi on my 16G EXCEPT the FMIC which I why I am not going above 15psi until I get it..

I put down 171hp and 179 ft-lbs of torque@10psi. All I have done is the T28 and a cone filter. I guess that's about right.

not really... i was pushin that number at 18 psi but at the track i was being stupid and turned the boost up to 23 psi or so with race gas... that pumped me out that 13.3. It was fast tho... real fast, but not consistant. That is why i wanted to go to turbotrix to get it tunned. Now its consistent, consitently slow.

Horsepower directly correlates to 1/4 mile. That's what is important.
