Sorry if this has been answered before, trust me I looked, didnt find exaclty what I needed.

Anyway here is my deal...
Im rebuilding the head on my 92 tsi FWD and was lookin at turbos for her. I took the stocker and put it on my other talon, so shes sitting with no turbo. Now my goal is around 300-350whp.

No current mods, just picked up the talon stock. Plan on full 3" apexi N1 exhaust, injectors - 550c?!, upgraded fuel pump - 255c, Turbo XS mbc - around 20psi, SAFC, ACT 2100, intake -really have no clue!! suggestions!

I was debating turbos and kinda settled on 2 - evo 16g or 20g. Now my thinkin is the 16g spools up quicker, so ive been told, so with the FWD might not be the best for grip. So that is kind of what brought me to the 20g. Now this is going to be a daily driver/drag strip car, ocasional drag strip, not a every weekend deal.

What are your guys suggestions/ideas. For the goal I want to achieve what would be possible or realistic. Any personal feelings either way.

Sorry for this being so long, I wanted to put everything out now. Thanks in advance.

- Before you ask:
1. Be sure you have all your engine mods listed in your Profile.
2. Be sure you first understand what supporting mods are needed for larger turbos - check the Tuning Guide linked at the top.
3. No "X"-Turbo vs. "X"-Turbo threads... these are never useful.
4. Use the Private Message feature to ask various members about their setup.
5. Please avoid asking questions about turbo specs, unreleased turbos, or other questions that can be accurately answered by simply calling the manufacturer directly or visiting their website.
6. NO vague "which turbo should I get?" type questions. This tells us you don't even know the capabilities of the turbos on the market. Do your research and then ask a more intelligent question when you are more informed. Click the "Advanced Search" link up top and start looking for info on each turbo name.

These threads are usually pretty boring and wind up turning into some morons arguing over the best anti-persperant.

Get the Evo III 16G. If you need traction get better tires and suspension, thats where the problem really is.

I agree. Go with a 16g. You will be able to make over 300 whp properly tuned ( don't forget the fmic ). Anything bigger and all you'll do is spin the tires once boost hits. Happy boosting.

As simple as that. :thumb:

I will leave this one alone. Checking the profiles of us replying tells the story all in itself.

That is the reasoning behind the rule. Just decide on what you want, with how much psi, with what support, and how hard you want to push it to acheive your goals. You will answer yourself.;)

wasnt asking for an asshole response!! (not directed at all of you... you know who you are)

Last time I checked these forums were to help others - including noobs

If you have a problem with my post then keep your comments to yourself!

Deffinately the last time I ask a question over here, I know big deal, not hurting you guys. I simply mean if you dont want to help someone, just say some smart ass remark, then keep your mouth closed.

thanks!!!!! :thumbdown

I can't speak for the Evo 16g, but I can say that I wasn't very satisfied with my small 16g. It just didn't seem like much of an improvement over the 14b. Now when I put the 20g on, it was a much different story. I'm very satisfied with it.
