The tax man was nice enough to return some money to me, so now it's time for an upgrade. :D
With this in mind, I have a couple questions.

How well do the O2 mounted wastegates work(tial 38mm)? Do they work just as well as exhaust manifold mounted ones?

I'm down to choosing from 2 turbos. AGP rs49(50 trim) and the PTE 50 trim. What are your opinions about these(reliability, performance, ease of install)?
If I picked up the rs49, I would consider the O2 mounted wastegate or internal gate.

On the other hand, I could get the internally gated PTE 50 trim and call it a day.

Hopefully this isn't to vague but, any opinions on the two?

Thanks in advance.

i would like to know also

Aside from the fact that you should probably get a stronger clutch and a FMIC with that settup, the rest looks good.

O2 mounted gates work very well. A 38mm o2 gate shoudl be able to give VERY good boost control over that 50trim depending on boost controller used. I would say go with AGP's full kit. Its not going to be much more in the long run when you consider a external and bolt on 50trim. You can sell your manifold and o2 housing to make up the difference and in teh end you have a MUCH nicer kit (trust me)...

Just call AGP and see what they can do for ya, they make wonderful products that work

ive heard both o2 and exhaust mani mounts both work good and some people like one and some the other..as far as turbos go im going pte 50 trim ex gate wiht mount on the mani

My external gate (Tail 40mm) is mounted right on the turbine housing itself. It works great and there is no boost creep even as low as 17psi. There really doesn't seem to be a substantial difference between the two setups but IMO, a wastegate after the collector should slow the turbine a little better.

the RS49 and PTE 50 trim are pretty much the same anyway. They are also most efficient in the 20+ psi range. If you have a ported 02 housing and/or ex. mani, an internal w/g setup will be fine.

I read pretty much the same myself except for a couple slight differences.

I guess the 2 main things I'm looking at are the creep issues with the internal gates of these turbos.
I've read everybody that's used the PTE(internally gated and divider cut) has had great success. Great success with performance and no creep. I understand that some say that the cut divider effects the turbos efficiency but people are still having success with it. Not to mention, the price with a basic install kit. I can get it for $899 shipped with: internal gate and basic install kit.

AGP's would be $800 for turbo + $100 for internal gate option not counting oil feed and return, gaskets and shipping(add at least $150). That's huge difference. I don't mind paying A LITTLE MORE(excuding shipping) but that's quite a bit more. It's to bad AGP doesn't have a complete kit(internally gated) with a little cost savings so they could better compete with the PTE's pricing.

I also read a thread where the RS49 creeped. I only take that with a grain of salt because everybody will have different outcomes depending on their set up

Thanks to everyone so far.
