I just got done installing my new 550cc injectors and 2g maf in my 1g. Started up and purrs like a kitten with no afc. I took it for a cruise and the boost frickin hit. Pegged the needle on a 30/20 gauge. I had the boost set previously to 15 psi. Why would this be? I pulled over and tried to adjust it and it wouldnt adjust. I turned the mbc all the way out and still hit 20psi. I dont understand how the new maf could do this. If you have any comments whatsoever please post. I was wanting to try and get out this weekend but I wont be able to with this much boost.

It wouldn't...

Do you still have your BCS hooked up or did you take it out when you put the MBC in? I bet that when you installed it that one of your boost reference lines got disconnected and your cute little wastegate is not getting the signal it needs (hence the pegging).

Recheck all of your vacuum lines that have anything do to with boost/vacumm (BOV, MBC, wastegate). Make sure none are punctured, leaking, falling off, connected properly...etc etc

Then when you relialize that the car will run ok as is but NOT perfect... maybe consider getting a cheap s-afc to fine tune (as best the afc can). Good luck,

i took the bcs off when i first got the mbc. and all of the emissions are off. well maybe the 3" intake is pushing the vacuum line that goes to the wastegate actuator nipple and kinking it. yeah i bought a SAFC and that will be here monday. first first hand experience with one. OMG do you not like the safc, candela? btw, is there any way to SLIGHTLY move the wastegate actuator? maybe a little down so my intake would fit better?
o yeah one more thing. ive posted numerous times about my knock problem. 43 counts while cruising, at idle, etc. bad bad knock. well once we put the 2g maf and 550cc in and went for a drive, i got no knock. even at 20+ psi!! well i got 7 counts the whole night and we were cruisin for prolly an hour. VERY HAPPY. i just hope it stays like that. such a relief

well I got the boosting problem fixed. went through all the lines and propped the intake up a little to get the w.a. nipple furthur away, i think that was the problem. Went out for another cruise and everything went pretty good. knocked a little more but still definately bearable until my afc arrives.
I did notice that my CEL came on. Checked the logger and its the BAROMETRIC PRESSURE SENSOR. I also looked at the air intake temp and it said 7 degrees. I know thats wrong. What could this be?? Did I hook up the maf wrong? Bad maf?

Did you change the plugs? you may have the wires for the presure and temp sensors crossed, switched, or grounded.
