EVO VIII injectors?

It has come to my attention that the EVO VIII injectors are 550cc, a friend of mine has some and I was wondering if they will work in my car w/ the dsmlink I'm ordering next week?

There's a few sets for sale on Ebay, they all say between 510cc and 530cc.[

My advice: Don't buy the EVO injectors, they'll still be too small if you are planning on running well with pump gas. You should have gotten injectors a long time ago given your mods. I've done the whole thing (510cc,550cc,650cc, fuel pressure) and if I had to do it again I'd go straight to 650cc or even 720cc. Spend the money once and do it right. Ever heard the term "go big or go home?"

"they all say between 510cc and 530cc"
Common man does that even SOUND legit to you?! Still waiting for the evidence they are true 550cc.
I have 550cc now and they work good, but if I had to do it again I would go 650cc also

My understanding was that the EVO VIII injectors flow 560cc.

I have worked on a few Evo 8's and they all use 510cc injectors and they have a stock 190 lph fuel pump. Their stock fuel pumps go out very quickly though. It is recommended to still upgrade the fuel system. My friend has 343 AWHP and is just about maxing those injectors using the Vishnu Excede. To go to 600cc injectors at least is not a bad idea on them. They pull too much timing if you don't. The injector duty cycle helps control timing advance. They seem to be very sensitive to this and end up detonating and hitting fuel cut. This is at higher altitudes though. I am not sure how that effects it. I have seen a few of them running almost stock boost pressure, but still being forced to get a fuel cut defender. Wow! I said more than I needed to. Sorry.

The reason the car doesn't run right is because of the Vishnu tuned Excede (crap).

Get a real engine management system and/or get the car tuned somewhere that does not suck, and it will probably run great.

I knew the Vishnu was crap. My friend still got it. I would like to get something else. It isn't my car though. The car runs fine where we have it set right now. It was just pulling too much timing for awhile. We dyno tuned it with a wideband and things are good for the time being. I would like to get its curve much more smooth though. Oh, well.

Have you used the XEDE system? Been tuned by us? Didn't think so.

Brett.

Well, you are more of an expert on the system than I am.

Can you tell us why his friends car has fuel cut problems and needs to use a FCD on his car, even though it has the XEDE system?

Hey guys, let's refrain from bashing any shops. If you don't like the Xede, please be specific as to why. It's fine to give examples as to why you feel a product is good or not. That's why the site is here. But we don't allow any shop bashing. Thanks.

That's interesting, they have 560 stamped (MDL560P) on the side of them by ND. I have to run -18% correction on my SAFC to balance the fuel trims which is about right for 560cc injectors. The earlier EVO's had 510cc injectors.

They are low impedance injectors and drop right in. I haven't been able to rig a tester to measure deadtime but I have to run larger correction at idle than at 1k leading me to believe they have shorter deadtime than the stock 450's.

You may want larger injectors but since the question was will the EVO VIII injectors work with DSMlink the answer is yes.
