Gude cams for 4g63

Just wondering if any one has personal experiance with the gude cam or info on the gude cam in a 4g63? I know they are rated the best cam for a single cam honda engine but was wondering how good they work on a turbo 4g63. I read that most every dsm owner uses hks cams but I want to get a comparison.

Alot of bench racers would like to think that you will not need adjustable cam gears for the HKS, but any cam will benefit from adjustable gears. Some more than others. If you can find a vendor that doesn't have the HKS on backorder, grab a set.

I used the 2 diffrent grinds gude has for our dsm's. The first being the 228 deg grind. The cams were installed straight up without cam gears. The idle was very strong @750rpm and sounded like it was a small block ford 302 more than a 2.0 turbo. With the stock 14b turbo I felt like I lost some power I would say 5hp or so. But almost all aftermarket cams lose power in a stock turbo car. Then I upgraded the turbo to a tdo5 20g The car woke up big time. On the road this fwd pulled on anything. The 228's are good cams. You can find em on the trader when they come up for 200 bux or so a set. The other cam i tried from gude was the gorilla cams. These were the worst cams made in the history of dsm performance camshafts. They grugingly idled at 1000-1200rpm. The cars engine shooked like it was a used blender on steroids. It broke lifters and rollers. Bad Bad Bad. Lost 1200 rpm in spool. The gorrilla cams are as bad as the 228 are good. The 228 are gude's version of the hks 272 cams. The 228's are perfect! The larger gorillas are not! .02
