alright so im driving home from school and i pulled over cause a kid opend my hatch on accedent so i fix that then i get back onto the street and start going then all of a sudden my cars not accerating in 1st or 2nd and 3 gear is slipping terriably. and i can smell my clutch burning. so i pull over look it over nothings missing so im like ummm ok. so i drive about 3/4 of the way home in only 3rd cause it was only gear that works then im about to turn down my street and my car wont accerate.. the engine revs but i go nowhere. so im going like 5 mph and try to jam it into 1st because it wouldnt move into it so i finially get it in first and my front wheels lock up completely. then im stranded there next to the side or the road. my bro finially towed me home but im gonna pull my transmission and get it rebuilt. where can i find out how to pull my transmission??????? a rebuild is about $650 for me too so this sucks.

any ideas?

i'm a tech and my advice to you is to purchase the service manual for the transmission at the dealer, they cost about $80 and it's way better than the chilton's, i got the chilton's and it really doesn't help if you've never done one before. if you can access a lift, great!, if not, your best bet is to take out the engine and tranny as a unit from the top and you can get away with using the chilton for torque specs. www.risingsunengines.com can rebuild your tranny starting at $350 or you can buy a used one that they may stock.

hey.... yea im gonna try to pull it myself... i got the haynes manual.... the chilton ones suck. mine shows how to tear it out... im kinda thinkin about havin a shop pull it now cause i dont wanna fugg my front end up
