I've heard of these manifolds, cast stainless steel, equal lenth, collector mounted wastegate, T4 divided runner flange. And I know the T4 would be awesome on a serious car, but Tubular manifolds crack and just plain dont last.

#1 Where can I get them? HKS doesn't have them on their website.

#2 How much are they?

#3 Who is running them on this board? I know Sean Glazer ran 8's on one.

#4 If you're running it, do you like it?

I appreciate the help.

HKS doesn't make them anymore.

I think they were around 800-1000 dollars

Good luck finding one. Those who know what they have will not sell that manifold for less than a grand. If you spend the money on a good header it will not crack. Just don't buy those 300$ header because that is all you get, a 300$ pos header. Now on the other hand there are a few people running the SFP which is pretty well priced with no issues.

There are a few pics of my old manifold in this link

http://www.boostaholic.net/pictures/mydsm/myturbosetup/

As you can see it is a collector mounted wastegate but you cannot mount it directly to the flange. With this manifold originally HKS sold a extension pipe.

I never ran that setup because the car got parted out before it was finished. Why do you want a T4+ sized turbo anyway? Just curious. With all the new style turbos out there I don't think there is any reason to go with a turbo that large unless your just trying to be Shep :) Even a GT35R is a T3(turbine) based turbo. Only reason I even messed around with a T61 was because I got a great deal on it and because I was stupid. I parted the car out due to other reasons but now I'm sticking to the basics in something 1000lbs lighter ;)

If anyone has one of these manifolds, "laying around" and would like to sell it for a fairly large sum of money, please let me know... It's not for my car, but for another project that is definately worthy of such a manifold. I realize no sane DSM'er would voluntarily give up such a prized possession, but it's worth a shot.

Do you have any idea what people are selling these for? I've heard people offering up to $2000. Um yeah... just get a GT35R.

I have a SFP manifold... no cracks so far :)

Friend of mine has run one for over a year now, without any cracks.

Well worth the $$$ IMO.

I know you can't touch one for under $1000.

The kicker is that HKS made a couple hundred of them, and there NO WHERE NEAR that many cars out there running them. There's got to be a couple just laying around the world in junk piles somewhere....just a matter of finding them!

So they only made a couple hundred of these and the price is between $800-2000? Why such a wide price range? Where are all the manifolds? Does HKS still have some in stock? I really need one but so far cant find any...anyone have any leads?

They where only about 800$ new if I recall. However remember economics class? Supply & Demand.

The manifolds where discontinued years ago.

Bare one more thing in mind: those manifold were NOT stainless steel. Instead, they were made from some really crappy material which cracked during daily ussage much worse than 1G manifolds.

They are OK for racing, but I would not use them on a daily driver. If I HAD to have a T4, I would get a quality header.

So if they were stainless steel they wouldn't crack under daily use correct?

I don’t understand why people go all nuts for HKS manifolds. South Florida Performance makes an exact copy for under $500. A friend of mine had been running it for 2 years on his car with no cracking at all and this was the first t4 manifold that SFP made for a 4g63. Just think at how much better they have gotten at making it almost 3 years later.

I have NEVER seen a tubular manifold on a turbo application that hasn't cracked. I'm probably going to go to a Turbonetics T3 mani with a T3-T4 cast adapter to run a T4 O trim .58ar turbo if I can't find an HKS.

My SFP header has been crack free for 3-years now... and yes it was the first t4 flanged setup they made. For the money its the best thing out there. Of course I have said this before many many times.

OK, I got a SFP Header for a T4. I REFUSE to use this crap. It's not equal length, has a horrible wastegate outlet location and you can only use it with ON CENTER HOUSINGS!! This thing is a waste of money...but looking at it I don't think it will crack, mild steel tubing and nice welds. But who in their right mind would use an on center T4 turbine housing? They flow like crap and are overly prone to exhaust pulse backpressure.

I'm continuing my search for a HKS T4 mani. Equal length, Tangular flange, superior wastegate outlet design, cast...and you can mount an OFF CENTER housing on the thing.

Yeah your right... on center housings dont work for sh!t. SFP does have different listings for oncenter and tangential housings. So before calling it names maybe you should have read their list or asked someone there. When I ordered mine I spoke with them in person and got exactly what I asked for. In fact I kow a guy who had one made for a tangential split housing. My on center housing has put me solid in the tens with and without nitrous and spools fast enough to make many "smaller" turbo owners jealous. I am not trying to sell anyone a SFP header. I am simply stating if you are looking for an affordable header that will not crack and allow you many turbo options than SFP is the way to go in my book. If you are after a bling-tastic shiny, equal leangth, etc show piece and dont care about cost then I would not hesitate to buy something else. There are some incredible headers floating around out there that are absolute works of art.... but you are going to pay for it and it may not get you down the track any quicker.

And last I checked no one ever said they were equal length.

I guess I shoud have said, "It's not equal length like the HKS is". I'm not tryin to diss SFP, but the one they sent me was just not right for my application. BUT their external wastegate outlet location is just horrible, and the tube bends to the incorrect location. *sigh* I guess I have been ruined by the Archer Stainless header. I had that thing crack the damn turbo flange completely off, including crack a tube...not a weld, but the actual tube. I just want something quality, and so far the Turbonetic's T3 is the only quality mani out there for us. Maybe someone will hear this and recast the HKS. Oh well.

Yes, the HKS T4 manni is very nice. I was originally going to use one of them 3-years ago. At the time I could have still bought one new for around $625. Once I saw one in person though I really wasnt all that impressed. The wastegate port comes out from behind/under the manifold in a really stupid spot. That was the biggest turnoff for me, as I like keeping everything nicely spaced and easily accessable. It is close to equal length but I dont think it is truely equal however. Now they are so hard to get you will pay out the nose for one. AMS has about the nicest T4 header I have ever seen. I drool every time I see it, but I question whether it will be prone to cracking in time... plus its rather salty. But you will likely pay similar money for an HKS if you find one.

You want a bad a$$ mani go check out www.Full-Race.com, my friend is running there mani and with a 60-1 he is hitting full boots at 3900RPM(18Psi)not bad for a 60-1, this guy will make you any kinda mani you want. My .02
