My friend bought this FP T28 and the compressor wheel shattered on him. he is willing to sell it to me for $100, but i dont know where to get the parts to fix it... i would imagine it needs a new compressor wheel, maybe a housing, exhaust wheel/shaft, and a rebuild kit, where the hell do i find that stuff, and is the turbo worth $100 the way it is?

You shattered the compressor wheel. Even if they can rebuild it, it will need to be balanced regardless.

i didnt shatter anything, was a friend..., and if its going to cost more to get it reman'd than to buy new its obviously its not worth it to me

Regardless, it's broken. I would call up FP and get a quote nonetheless. It couldn't hurt, right? :thumb:

im going to call then when i get out of work today, see what they car, and im not sure how he broke it, i would guess that it was an oil issue

the turbo had bad oil seals allowing the oil to escape out the exhaust side. im almost positive thats how my fpbig28 died. i will never buy a used turbo ever again. anyway mike if u want the 28 just hit me up on aol. i now have a big16g :dsm:

Damn there is a post where theres a link to a website that sells almost all types of turbos including compressor wheels, go search and you should find it here.

i'll be getting at you about it real quick buddy, just as long as i have first dibs:thumb:

thats sucks did any of the pieces of the wheel get sucked up into the engine? Forced performance sells wheels, housings and pretty much everything else for turbos, you should just rebuild it yourself with new wheel and housing then take it to a local shop that will be able to balance it for you.

when i drained the oil, i did not see any metal pieces come out. also the compressor wheel is some type of aluminum i believe and if it does get sucked into the engine, if the pieces are little enough they will just melt. we'll see what happens. but i hope for the best now that i have my big16g installed and it pulls like a raped ape :thumb:
