hey guys whats up? i need some info on the following kit im looking to buy...
here is the run down...
1-Bolt on T3T4 hybrid turbocharger 50 trim, internal wastegate
http://www.diamondstarmotorsport.com/turboparts.shtml
50trim

4- Dejoon tool street front mount intercooler

I plan on running 18psi with this kit, and stick to the 450cc (good idea?) and perhaps add a FPR(i havent decided wich one)

The current mods on my car are as follow
95 GST
6bolt engine w/wiseco 8.5:1 pistons .30overbore, 1g rods
rotating assembly has been balanced and blue printed
1g head that has been rebuild with 3angle valve job, MLS head gasket, ARP headstuds, No balance shafts
full 3" Greddy EVO exhaust system, Greddy 2 3/4 to 3" downpipe, no catalytic converter. ported 2g exhaust manifold, dejon tool upper and lower intercooler pipes, HKS SSQV BOV, DSMLINK(www.dsmlink.com)
ACT XACT flywheel, 2100 ACT clutch, Magnecor plug wires, NGK plugs

So what do you think?
will i be ok with that turbocharger and that intercooler running that PSI safely?
or am i going to need bigger injectors?
Or should i buy a EVO 16g instead of the t3/t4??
thanks guys i know this may have already been covered somewhere and i apologize for sounding like a newbie but hey........what can i do?:p

thanks for the space and all your help
late

Its not really a t3/t4 turbo... (not to mention thats a TOTALLY vague description of a turbo)

Thats a pte 50 trim turbo...

Anywho, if you are going to run this turbo on stock injectors, 18psi is ABSOLUTELY out of the question... I would recommend no less than denso 660s for this application.

If you must run stock ones for some reason, Id stick to the stock minimum boost setting that is possible.

damn....yea its pretty vague description, i was only looking at the site. my bad.

the only reason i wanted to run stock injectors is cause ofmoney issues.
So then it will probably be wise to run a EVOIII 16G instead of the PTE50, right?

Evo III 16G. 44lbs/min isn't too bad. And its good to about 26psi on race gas. I think you'll enjoy having the Evo turbo much more than the 50 trim.

how could you say that? WHy would one turbo be more fun than the other...a 50 trim and 22 psi in 4th on the freeway = lotsa fun... I think you should buy the injectors first, then the 50trim. You'll wanna kill yourself if you have a 50 trim with stock injectors.

BTW, I wouldnt even run a EVO3 turbo with stock injectors...Its just not a good idea.

ok so here is my plan of attack (in order of purchase)
1-i buy the intercooler
2-boost controller
3-EGT guage
4-buy or make the dump tube
5-walbro 255lph fuel pump
6-injectors 660s ( i dont installthem yet)
7- FPR
and finally i buy PTE50trim......

sounds good?

Ok, I noticed you dont have a datalogger anywhere on your list...Should probably be near the top of it though.

Also, I see no fuel control. You will need at least something like an AFC for those injectors. Cant run upgraded injectors without controlling them.

Finally, if I was you, Id install the injectors as soon as you get them, provided you get fuel control on your list (dont wait until the turbo comes.). It seems like you're afraid of running your upgraded injectors with your stock turbo, and you shouldnt be. It cant hurt to have bigger injectors early in the game...Can only help.

Hahah, I know what DSMlink is, sorry, didnt realize you have it.

Although, I must say, while DSMlink is pretty awesome, its still not as good as a kickass standalone system (AEM). But its about as good as it gets as far as piggyback systems go.

Actually, AEM is a lot better.

And yeah, the DSMlink system is a piggyback. This means that the system allows you to control the stock ECU. For example, when you want more fuel, it intercepts the airflow signal and modifies it, making it look like theres more air, so the car (ecu) will dump more fuel. Essentially, any system that doesnt replace the stock ECU is a piggyback.

umm correct me if im wrong but you arent intercepting or modifying any signals with DSMlink like you do with say an AFC...you are actually modifying the signal..like if you change the fuel curves you arent making it seem like there is more air but you are simply changing the fuel curves....thats why many buy it over AFC and others is because its NOT a piggyback system

i personally bought the dsmlink to eliminate my RM after i did the six bolt swap. Dsmlink has more to offer than the AFC or SAFC or anyother fuel managment units. There was an argument here on the forums a while back on the ups and downs on dsmlink when compared to the AEM stand alone unit. It got pretty nasty and at the end everyone took whatever they could from the argument and noone won. I couldnt find the link to that thread. Arguing here on that subject will get no where and it will get nasty....

go to the dsmlink site and check it out yourself and then you decide wether its a piggy back or a standalone.....:dsm:
www.dsmlink.com

All Im going to say then, is by definition, it is not a standalone. A standalone system does not use the stock ECU. Ever.

:D Ill avoid any potential arguments by not saying more.
