i unscred a fuel line at the fuel pump.....here is a link to the pic of it....
http://www.prostreetonline.com/pso/images/howto/2gfuelpump/DSCF0026.jpg

it is the one that threads on....my question is, i can get it to thread back on all the way without kinking the hose, anyone know any way at all to get it back on, ive tried everything.....i tried to twist the line the oposite way then thread it on, but it still wont go on enough to be straight, it goes on half way then the hose starts to kink again?? any help??

on second thought. Are you using two box end wrenches? Cause on that line there are two movable fittings. One on each side. With one one each you should be able to turn them both independently. Until they tighten then just hold the hose end stationary while tighening the tank fitting. If for some reason the hose side fitting is frozen hit it with some WD/40

yea the metal line runing of the pump wont turn, only the fuel line will. Are they both supposed to turn??

i always thought u were supposed to get the line from underneath the car because that is where the swivel fitting is. u try it at the top and u will break that fitting, (no swivel fitting). at least thats how i did my walbro 190 lph install, from the bottom.

Yes they are both supposed to turn

u are wrong. the fitting up top does not swivel, turn. u would have to turn the hose piece and without unscrewing it from underneath the hose will not twist. approach from underneath !

hey i got one question for u. do u have a second gen? didnt think so. i did my 190 lph install and there was no way u could approach it from the top. u had to disconect the fuel line from the bottom of the car. obviously u take the fuel pump out from under the seat  . im talking about where u disconnect the fuel line, and so is the thread starter. now with that being said..........read. i am righthttp://www.prostreetonline.com/pso/pages/howto/showarticle.asp?articleid=21

thank you for the step by step, Hes already this far and now he has to take the whole thing down? I think he might be able to get away with my first suggestion, if thats the case (if the tank side fitting doesnt move)

EASY...EASY.....the only reason i did it from the top was because the line underneath is all stripped out from the person who owned it before me, thats the only reason i did it from up top....i know it is suppoesed to be from underneath, but there was no way.....so my dumbass self did TWIST THE SHIT OUT OF IT to get it undone, not thinking what a pain in the ass it would be to get back on........

you may do it from the top or bottom on any dsm.

i did mine on the top. i have a 2g. we did my friends on the top. he has a 1g.

either way will work. move on.

how did you get it to go back on then, cuz it doesnt swivel at all?? the line keeps kinking

The top fitting does not spin. You are supposed to disconnect it first at the bottom and then at the top other wise the rubber hose will just start kinking. Also, you need to be very careful to lock out the other bolt when breaking the topo fitting loose so you don't kink the hard line. Flare nut wrenches and PB Blaster are your friend:)

says who, LOL. im saying i did it from the top with zero problems and everything went perfectly so i did it the correct way also, IMO.

im sure that fitting's there for a reason.... like to be disconnected.

Says me. I've done at least 12 2gs and they are all this way. The top line on the hose does not swivel spin. I don't know what to tell ya.

finnally someone agrees with me. from the bottom is the right way to do it. where the swivel fitting is like i said a thousand times before. do it from the top and u could break the fitting. it doesnt swivel
