Ok, here's my deal. I have a 92 Talon FWD Turbo. I already have my Thermal cat back, and my RNR cat & o2 eliminating downpipe is on the way here. My car is on jack stands in my garage with the exhaust partially off. I cannot get the downpipe or o2 housing off. I removed both of the heat shields already. I can only get to the top 2 bolts on the o2. And being a 92, most of the bolts under the car are crusty as you know what. A lot of them I can't even break loose with a breaker bar. So my question is, how do I get to the other bolts? And how can I break loose the bolts that are somewhat rusty and all crusted up? Is there a walkthrough anywhere for this? Thanks a lot!

You will probably have to lower the turbo off the exhaust manifold, to be able to reach the bolts.

Anyone else have a better way?

I'm not sure if a 92 would be much different than a 90, but to get my DP off i just sprayed everything with WD-40, waited, and sprayed again. Then I just used 2 socket extensions and all the muscle I could muster to bust 'em free. I didn't take the 02 housing off. Oh, and prior to DP removal, I took off anything i could to free up more room... downpipe heat shield etc. GL! ;)

If your bolts are that tight....bite the bullet and remove the whole turbo. Better in the long run than breaking a bolt or stud because of poor access.

A turbo to manifold gasket and some time will save you alot of headache.

Good luck.

Thanks a lot guys for the help. I had a friend with more experience help me, and we got it all off. Now all I'm waiting on is my downpipe from RNR. I've heard they take awhile for their stuff. We used some penetrating fluid stuff and that helped a lot. We didn't have to take the turbo off, I did remove both heat shields though. I'm finally seeing my car start to be slowly built. It's like watching a child grow. :D

Thanks again.
