i am currently in the market for a fmic kit and i am wondering if any of the companies that make intercooler kits , would accomodate the blow thru gm maft setup that i have on my car, i searched but could not come up with any results

I'm sure it wouldn't be too much hassle to ask them to cut out a section of pipe to accomodate the MAF. Ideally it would be a straight portion of the upper intercooler pipe.

Here's how I did it:

yea, me too! i have seen this before on other cars, but i never knew why!

It's the poor man's solution for better flow. I wasn't sure 1 stock BOV would be enough to vent the volume of air generated by the turbo, so I put two on there. I've seen it done before. Both are modded with Dejon Tool's pressure switch. I was running one before, also modded the same way, and it didn't leak when pressure tested to 25 psi.

The sound does happen to be pretty neat, but that was a by-product.

I use the Dejon Tool race FMIC kit and it does come with the setup with the MAF in a blow-thru setup. But it requires cutting the core support, you can't use the bumper, and not everyone wants a 28"x11"x3.5" intercooler. It's a good deal for the money though, if that's the route you so desire.
