Automatic Track Times for 2008
Just curious on when all the auto guys are planning to head out to the track this year. I need some inspiration to finish my car, as I am literally dumping every spare penny into it, and i'm becoming very discuraged. Also, has anyone built a new car or improved their setups?

Nothing special here, just a little improvement over last years setup. I have worked on it a lot for this season and changed a bunch of things, so maybe it will motivate you a little. Last year my best was 12.6 @ 109. This year, I am hoping to hit high 11's on the stock converter, and then swap in an IPT converter and try for mid 11s.

I went tonight, got some bugs to work out, but overall not too bad. Car went 135mph. Only got in 2 passes due to compications. First pass the car didn't like some EMS setttings and wouldn't stall up.. sat at 2700 and ended up just having to let it go. car bogged horribly but came to life about 100 feet out and went 133mph, off of a 96mph 1/8th mile.. not bad on the back end, 37mph!, I was happy to see that. Second time around I fixed the launch issue and went back in line. Stalled up, got to about 20 lbs, car started to pull through the brakes hard, so I had to let it go. I paniced and accidently kept the Ebrake up when i let off the foot brake and the car started to bog and I realized my mistake and dropped the E-brake, I redlighted and they ####ed the times all up, so I don't have a true mph, but according to the EMS logs it was approx 135-136. Car is hauling ass I just need to get this launch sorted out.

136 is not bad at all. Did you get a chance to weigh the car?

Nah, didn't weigh the car. I haven't done anything crazy weight reduction wise.. just the usual shit, still have full interior, etc. I calculated my weight savings over stock the other day to be around 200-250 lbs.. I'm guessing the car is 3000ish give or take without me.

Wow. Is buying your wife an Evo X a good thing or a bad thing?

A good thing keeps me from modding it to heavily.Ive been tweaking dsms for almost 6 years.I practically live at BVP(Big Valley Performance) which is the first shop in the country with a Evo X in the 11's.

I made a lot of changes over the winter. My goal is to get kicked off my local track for not having a cage (11.5 or quicker). Last year I went 12.3 at 109.97 with the 16g and bolt on's. My first track day is in a month.
My winter build
I'll have to get more pics up tommorow. I started it with everything on minus the built auto tranny a couple days ago. Tommorow is the first driving day.

Im hoping to have my car ready for that Buschur Import shootout thing. Last year I went 9.90 in the 1/4 letting off a little after the 1/8th for license passes but then blew a radiator hose.

bogged the launch and went 10.4 tonight. Got booted by angry tech guy for not having a cage. Pretty sure I could have got the launch right and nailed a 9.9 if I had more tries tonight.

I went 8.99x on two passes in a row earlier today, one pass at 154.5 then the other at 157.5mph. I'll be dialing the chassis and the launch in soon and then turning the boost up. The 157.5mph pass was at only 34-35psi.

IF I can get 12.99 out of it this season... I will be happy!
The car seems to be running well enough. I need to change some gaskets and get the thing tuned and it'll be ready.
