Car won't go into gear +buzz

Just finished swapping in an engine after about 6 months of lawn ornamenting. Well basically whenever I switch to anything not neutral or park, the tranny makes a buzzing sound and doesn't move. btw someone broke into my car once and pulled out my SAFC and may have messed with wires near the radio. If you have any ideas lmk because this is my only ride now that I got a ref tick on my other and have to keep hitching rides. thanks in advance -Elias

I am having the same problem! Although I just rebuilt my motor. I talked to a friend and he suggested the torque converter is not on the spline. It is therefore slipping on the spline. Please anybody else input their knowledge here!
