I'm in the process of replacing my leaky rear main oil seal and found that whoever accessed the driveplate bolts last (not me), had rounded some of them off.
Looks like they used a impact wrench.
I manged to get all but two off.
Those two are so bad I have to find another way to remove them. The only way I can think of is to use a cut off wheel to chop off the heads and remove the rest of the bolt.
In the center of each bolt is a dimple, possibly used as a guide to drilling them out and using a bolt extractor? With 98 FT/LBS of torque I would think that wouldn't be the right way to go. I've broken off extractors with less amounts of torque and drilling thru them is next to impossible. Maybe I'm wrong? Any other ideas?
Arrgh! I'm so frustrated right now! I should have replaced this seal back when I had the engine out of the car.
Anyway the part # for the driveplate bolt I found is MD752272. Is this correct?
