Recently trans fluid has been shooting out of my trans dip stick hole. I talked to the guy who built my trans and he said it sounds like the trans breather is clogged and my trans is building pressure because of this. Anyone know where this is at or is it called something else? 2g awd.

Thanks.

It could be a number of things. Your trans vents "could" be clogged I guess. You could try to reduce the trans pressure by adjusting it on the valve body (wouldnt suggest for a newbie mechanic though). This guy built your trans and the vents are clogged? Seems kinda strange to me. How long ago was the build, its rediculus if the vents are clogged so soon after a build. Also, just for fun, check if your dipstick is sealing properly. Maybe get a new one just to be sure, you never know.

I got my trans built about 2 years ago and this problem just started. I was told that the "breather" is the hose coming off the dipstick hole that goes back into the trans(A guy that works at Aamco told me this). Well the last week i have been checking everything including the "breather line", cooler hoses, and pretty much check the whole outside of the trans for anything out of ordinary. Came up empty (except one of my axle boots is torn and shot grease everywhere), so my next step is to drop the pan and look for any metal pieces or shavings because i believe my problem could be internal.

Also i have been using ATF+4. Could this be the problem? I was told to use Mopar trans oil but when i called dodge to get some they said that they dont use that anymore, they use +4. But then I was told by someone else to use Dexron 3.

Oh and originaly i thought the trans dipstick wasnt sealing. So for a temporary fix i put a rubber stopper with a clamp on it and sealed it. Well the next day my trans temp light came on again after about 15-20 mins of driving so i pulled over. There was no trans fluid leaking so i went to take the rubber stopper off and then it blew off and trans fluid went shooting out. This ended up putting me in the hospital for second degree burns.

Any more input would be great.
Thanks.
