Pressure Control Solenoid

Today I decided to find out why my check engine light was coming on. First off, I have no o/d, I got the end clutches to fix it but have yet to install them. Anyhow, I checked my ECU code and it seems I have a problem with my TPS, code #14, which also showed up when I pulled the code for my cruise, code #17. Next I check the code for my TCU and I received code #85, Open or Short Circuited Pressure Control Solenoid Valve. My question is, Can this be the reason I have no o/d, not the end clutches? I'm not familiar with what this solenoid does. I'm also not sure which solenoid it is on the valve body. I need to find out before I tear anything apart. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The pressure contole valve is seting off by it self .Acording to the ATSG trans manuale if you have a code #85 it will be fixed at 3rd gear when in drive or 2nd gear when in 2nd and low on the shifter , so yes you will not hav OD with this code . I would check out the plugs on the tranny make sure they are there are no coroded pins and pluged in all the way .The valve has a blue wire on it and it should read 2-4 ohms according to the book I have .Need to find the problem on the TPS as this will afect trans opperation also but not the problem you have now .Hope this helps
