Tranny or TC slipping only at around 2800-3000 rpm?

My '92 N/T 2.0 slips and rpms drop a few hundred momentarily at around 2800-3000 in every gear excapt 4th before resuming a normal rpm climb. The upshifts and downshifts are always normal. In warm weather it always has this problem but I've noticed when air temps are below 20 degrees the problem disapears. Any thoughts on what may be causing this?

I'm contemplating filling the trans with heavier Dexron fluid as I'm thinking that when its very cold outside the atf+ fluid must be 'heavier' and as a result the problem dissapears. Any thoughts on doing this?

Is throttle position a factor? Does it matter how much throttle you give it?

Go to a Transmission shop and have them do a complete flush, preferably with a BG machine(that thing will remove all the flud in the trans). If the proble still persists then the problem is internal, if it goes away then the fluid was just worn out. Don't just add some heavier fluid to what you already have in there as that may make the problem worse.
