I bought a tranny that was supposedly from a 90 eclipse and it has CNGAD stamped on it where my original had F4A222 MPA1 stamped on it. Everything looks identical to my original except for a sensor to the lower left of the fluid dipstick. It has a 2 prong connector, where the original has a rubber boot over 3 wire...i beleive (cover by wire loom) Has anyone every seen this?

Ok a little more seaching, and closer inspection of the tranny has revealed that it is a KM 175. Does anyone know if this woill work on my vehicle?

from what i know about the km series trannys ,being that yours is a n/t yes it will work...of corse i would swap out the different sensor ....

so you think as long as i swap the sensors over from my original tranny, i will be all set? I just don't wanna do the swap and have the thing go into limp mode......that would suck!

I've never seen someone communicate so well with themself. LOL!

Have you checked to see if the gear ratios are the same? You should research and find out if different gear ratios will throw the car into limp mode or not. I know it will atleast throw a code. Other than that, you should be set!

Where would i be able to find out what the gear ratios are for each transmission?

You'll have to search online for them. A quick solution might be to call a transmission shop and ask wether or not a different gear ratio will put the car in limp mode. If they say it will, or can, i'd ask if the correct TCU would solve that problem. Let us know what you find.

It is enough of a risk to put a used unit in a vehicle- it usually doesn't work out that well.

However, if you want to take this route, the tag numbers on a Mitsubishi trans must match exactly for a swap to be successful. The wrong ratio will unquestionably put the trans into limp.
