Ok here is the delima. Car wont shift into OD. Take OD off and drives fine! ATF Kit ran fine for a while. Oh forgot to mention Check engine light came on before ATF Kit replaced. Started doing it again. Decided to scan it since Check Engine light was on and threw a TPS code, according to Mitsu the TPS will affect the Tranny shift points. Replaced it and same damn problem. I am starting to wonder if 1. The scanner was wrong 2. If maybe the OD Clutch is bad, but why when OD turned off (which is electronically done) it drives fine. OD on acts like it slips at about 20 mph OD off drives fine???

The end clutches start to spin in 3rd gear. I'd say it's say to assume your end clutches are shot. You proved it by saying when you hit the button the trans acts weird.
As far as the TPS goes, it's the adjustment that you need to watch out for. Even with a new TPS, if it's not adjusted properly, it won't run properly.

How will the TPS effect the tranny? If it is not set properly what will it cause the tranny to do? I recently bought a 95 GSX with a blown seized motor. Fixed it and the AT seems wasted. If I punch it RPMs shoot up and I am not getting into gear. If I drive it like a baby it shifts fine. Or if I hit the gas and let go and wait a second or two and hit the gas lightly it will get into gear. I was told the tranny was fine before the motor seized which is believeable because what are the odds the motor and tranny take a dump at the same time?

The TPS is a huge sensor in our cars, many other sensors rely on its correct calibration.
www.plymouthlaser.com has a VFAQ on how to properly adjust it.
Invader, Heat is the number killer of trans, so who knows!! It's hard to say what is causing the problem. Pull TCU codes and see what's up, use the link above, as Charles has a VFAQ for that as well.
