An inexpensive, but well made Stainless 3" downpipe by Megan Racing for the 2G.
I bought it from a local shop and paid right around $180 after tax. It's stainless steel and fitment was perfect. it's an easy install, EXCEPT for when matching it up to the Thermal catback you will need to cut off roughly 3 inches of the Thermal and replace it with a 3 inch peice and flange (it was obviously a cat-back with a stock downpipe so it flares down to meet up with the factory cat). I put this on my 98 AWD, but my friend had the same situation with his 97 FWD. This downpipe eliminates the cat. Performance gains were noticeable, quicker spooling on the 16G, the exhuast sound is more throaty, and more deep, all of the normal gains when jumping from a factory downpipe to a 3" but at the same time you will either need to go to an external wastegate or port/clip the turbo.
Overall i would recommend giving this downpipe some thought. the N1 retails from anywhere in the $279 range and i've heard of people paying near $350 for it so when short on cash, but looking for a nice quick gain, this is definately worth looking at.
