How to install aftermarket tweeters in 2G factory dash speakers

There is a pic below are each of steps listed here.

1) Start off by taking the dash speakers off. Wrap a screwdriver in a towel and pry the speaker up, it will pop up. Disconnect the plug and take the speaker out of the car.

2) Remove the 2 screws from the base of the speaker and the black screw from the speaker terminals. Pull the black connecting/wiring plate off and rip the speaker terminals off.

3) Using a precision screwdriver or something small, open the grill by prying the screwdriver under the tabs on the black grill.

4) Once the grill tabs are open, lift the grill and remove it.

5) Cut the cloth from the speakers and cut the cone material and rip it off the speaker.

6) Rip the brown paper material from the speaker.

7) Remove the 4 screws and the magnet will drop down. You can remove excess paper material from the speaker by using a knife (this will make it look cleaner).

8) My tweeter from Alpine Type S Components and the bracket that was used to hold the tweeter.

9) My tweeter had a hole for a screw at the bottom and I fed the screw through the hole in the round plastic cover and tightend it.

10) Install the grill over the aftermarket tweeters.

FYI - The factory 3.5" dash speakers are wired in parallel with the door speakers.
