photo Cruise Control to Non Crusie Control Removal/Installation Write Up**PICS**

Hey guys. So Ive been looking around for a cruise control to non cruise control write up with pictures. I haven't found one (maybe I didn't look hard enough) so I decided to make one. This is my first write up so feel free to critique me, any information helps. Thanks
This mod was done on a 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX

Cruise Control to Non Cruise Control Removal/ Installation.

Using Non Cruise Control cable: Part# MB539465

Step 1: This is what your motor should look like with cruise control installed. The cruise control unit is mounted on the fire wall along with the cables.

Same shot just wider angle.

Step 2: Remove the cover on the cruise control unit. There are 2 bolts on either side of the box. When removed, pull it off.

Step3: Find where your throttle cable is hooked onto your throttle body. Pull the cable out of the throttle body groove and push the cable out.

Step4: Remove the 2 bolts holding the throttle cable bracket on to the intake manifold.

Step 5: Unbolt the two throttle cable holders. They are the two metal clips, also attached to the intake manifold.

Cable Holding Bracket.

Both brackets unbolted.

Step 6: Back to the cruise control box. There are 3 bolts bolted into the fire wall. The bolts are in a triangle pattern. You are able to see the top bolt in the picture. Unbolt them now. When they are unbolted, unhook the wiring connector to the electrical cruise control unit.

Step 7: I don't know what this is called, but remove it. Its connected to the cruise control. There are 2 bolts holding it down.

Step8: Now, everything should be unbolted except the throttle cable going to the gas pedal. Unbolt those 2 bolts holding down the bracket on the firewall.

Step 9: This is what the new cable end looks like that connects to the gas pedal. Notice the yellow connector with a duck bill type clip.

Step 10: Lay down inside your car in the drivers floor board. Look up at the gas pedal. You will see a cable with a round ball at the end. Holding it into the pedal is that yellow duck bill type clip. To remove this clip all you have to do in squeeze it together and push it through the gas pedal hole. Once it is out, push the cable up and out through the slot on the gas pedal. Go back under the hood and remove the bracket off the fire wall that was attached to the pedal.

Step 11:You are now able to remove and get rid of the cruise control assembly. This is what it should look like.

Step 12: Now reinstall cable MB539465 Into the firewall hole and bolt it down using the 2 bolts. Re attach it to the gas pedal and push the duck bill clip into the hole so it cant slide out.

Step 13: Re attach the clips that hold the throttle cable in place using the long bolts.

Step 14: Re attach the throttle cable back onto the throttle body.

Step 15: Bolt down the throttle cable bracket using the 2 bolts into the intake manifold.

Step 16: Check cable tightness by moving bracket back and forth. Make it tight enough that there is no slack in the line but not tight enough for the rpms to raise. I did this with the car running.

Step 17: DONE!!! YAY!!:D:D:D
This is what it should look like now. Now, I have a place to mount my FPR! :)

This is the car and part that was used.

Thanks for reading. I do not take responsibility for any one that messes this up. Install at your own risk.

So, just kind of tuck it under the intake manifold? Also, should I re-post it in that section?

BTW, I love your engine bay. :)
