A Primer on Upgrading your Fuel System

Purpose: This is a primer to guide people through the process of upgrading their fuel systems. The number of options available to people now is growing so I thought this would be helpful. The first portion of the guide is a mathematical look at fuel system upgrades, focusing on fuel pump flow at certain boost levels as well as fuel flow from injectors which can be used to calculate maximum supported airflow. If anyone finds this too complicated feel free to PM me about how everything works, but the guide assumes that the reader has a firm background in algebra as well as access to a graphing utility to simplify the use of the equations. If you can't use the equation then there is a set of tables which you can use to get data at set points.

The second portion deals with how to control the extra fuel (AFPR and Fuel Management) and ends with frequently asked questions:

High IDCs
Buying for now vs. future
Minimal fuel setup for an Evo III turbo
Is the AFPR necessary for a big fuel pump

Once again if anyone has any questions feel free to PM me and I will answer them to the best of my capabilities.

Updated: I added the equation for the standard 255hp pump by using a power regression instead of a logrithmic. The Pearson Correlation value was .9947 so it is fairly accurate.
