2G-specific Wiring Factory Ignitor Into Ignition Bypass Plug

My AEM C2DI decided it didn't want to work anymore. The C2DI was wired in without the factory Ignitor causing the car not to run when using the bypass plug. In order to fix this I decided to wire the Ignitor into the bypass plug.

It was pretty simple if you know how to solder and crimp wires and what not.

The C2DI uses a 12 PIN Deutsch connector with the following pin outs:
  1. Ign1 Input - White
  2. Ign2 Input - Green
  3. IgnOn +12v - Red
  4. Ign3 Input - Yellow
  5. Ign4 Input - Violet
  6. IgnOn +12v - Red
  7. + Coil 2 & 4 - Pink
  8. - Coil 4 - Gray
  9. - Coil 3 - Blue
  10. + Coil 1 & 3 - Tan
  11. - Coil 2 - Orange
  12. - Coil 1 - Brown

The Mitsubishi Ignitor (Power transistor) uses the following pin outs:
  1. OC2 - Blue/Black
  2. IB2 - Tan/Red
  3. GND - Black
  4. TACH - White
  5. Empty
  6. VB - Black/White
  7. IB1 - Black/Blue
  8. OC1 - Black/White

And now for the fun part... make the following connections to the C2DI connector:
  1. IB1 - Black/Blue
  2. IB2 - Tan/Red
  3. VB - Black/White
  4. Empty
  5. GND - Black
  6. Connect to PINs 7 & 10
  7. + 12V from PIN 6
  8. Empty
  9. Empty
  10. + 12V from PIN 6
  11. OC1 - Black/White
  12. OC2 - Blue/Black

Because this was an unexpected problem I had to cut the wires from my bypass plug in the center and solder to them. Had I time to order new PINs, using them would have been a better idea. I also removed the wire for the tach because my EMS controls the cars tach without it.

Now installation of the ByPass Plug will allow the car to run.

I believe the TwinFire Ignition uses the exact same plug and wire colors. So this may apply to that ignition box too.
