For my 2G I am trying to white out my parking lights/turn signal. I know i need 1157 bulbs to do this. My question is are the OEM bulbs amber, or is there an amber lense inside the OEM headlight assembly?

Also, it looks like I can access the parking light bulbs through plastic doors just behind and to the side the headlights in the engine bay. Is that correct?

Before I take my whole headlight assembly apart I wanted to ask someone who has tried this. Thanks.

Here is a complete autopsy, with grisly photos of the guts:

A-yup, that's why it's there.

Hey quick question. Isn't that illegal to have a different color, other than yellow, as your turn signal? Not that I'm a law abiding citizen or anything but I live in Gwinnett county right, above Atlanta, and the cops are a pain in the butt up here. I just don’t want to waist my time and money getting pulled over all the time.

Amber. Yeah, it's Federal regs, and the local constabulary loves to fatten their coffers with this easy $20 ticket. And, it gives them the chance to dick with kids, one of their favorite pastimes.... kinda like Michael Jackson, but few of them dance so well.

You can use a "clear" or chrome reflector with an amber bulb- and now, they're making silvered bulbs that don't eff up the look when the light's out, but burn a normal amber color (it's tough to photograph light bulbs; they look completely normal in the dark. Of course, I got them off eBay):
